E-commerce product pages not ranking?

An online store can have thousands of pages, and Google will not rank them all. Usually a few technical problems hold most of the catalogue back.

60-SECOND SELF-CHECKYOU CAN DO THIS NOW
?Searching a product name plus your store name does not show the product page.
?Search Console shows many filter or parameter URLs, or many "Duplicate without user-selected canonical" pages.
?Deleted or out-of-stock products return 404 instead of redirecting.

In plain words

What is going on

Stores create many near-identical pages: filters, sort orders, colours and sizes each get their own URL. Google wastes its time on those copies and may never index the product and category pages that actually sell. Old products that were deleted without redirects leave 404s behind.

On top of that, product pages often reuse the manufacturer's description, lack product schema (price, availability, reviews) and are linked only from deep inside the menu.

How to tell

Signs you have this problem

  • Searching a product name plus your store name does not show the product page.
  • Search Console shows many filter or parameter URLs, or many "Duplicate without user-selected canonical" pages.
  • Deleted or out-of-stock products return 404 instead of redirecting.
  • Product pages have no price or availability in Google results.
  • Category pages are thin: a grid of products and no helpful text.

Why it matters

Why it costs you money

Products that are not indexed cannot be found or bought from Google.

Duplicate pages dilute the strength of the pages that should rank.

Missing price or availability in results makes shoppers click a competitor that shows them.

In Kuwait and Saudi Arabia

Gulf stores often run Arabic and English catalogues, ship to several GCC countries, and use platforms such as Shopify, Salla or Zid. Prices in different currencies and duplicate language URLs are common reasons product pages get skipped.

FAQ

Questions about this problem

Should every product page be indexed?

Not always. Variants and filter pages usually should not be. The goal is that every page a shopper would search for is indexed, and the copies are not.

What is product schema?

Code on the page that tells Google the product name, price, currency, availability and reviews, so it can show them in results.

Do you work with Shopify or Salla?

Our audits read your public pages, so they work on any platform. For changes we need a staff or collaborator account with limited rights, not your password.

Will this increase sales?

We cannot promise sales. We fix the issues that stop products being found and show you which pages are indexed and visible before and after.
